4 Things We Love To See in the New Wolverine Game

Marvel’s Wolverine is available TODAY to preload on PlayStation and we honestly can’t be more excited about it. Insomniac’s clawed baby drops September 15, 2026 as a PS5 exclusive, it’s a chunky 79 GB download (so clear some space bub), and preload opens at midnight your local time. One week to go!

We thought this one wasn’t even on the table but surprise surprise, one of the trailers featured a menu with the recreated meme as the background.

You know the one: Logan lying back in bed, staring longingly at a little picture frame.

Turns out it’s not just a throwaway gag either. It’s the backdrop of the mission-select screen inside Logan’s Nightmare Cabin, which is how you replay levels you’ve already cleared. So you’ll be seeing it a LOT.

We want a full resolution copy please. Is there a cutscene? We want to know moreeeee!

Motorcycle Logan

The 7 minute State of Play gameplay showed us a good couple of minutes of Wolverine riding a hog. And it’s not just a cutscene: Logan chases down a Reaver convoy that’s kidnapped a bunch of mutants, tearing through the highway, slashing tires, launching goons off the road, then leaping truck to truck like he wandered in from an Uncharted set piece.

No choppers this time, but can we PLEASE battle helicopters ala Hugh Jackman in X-Men Origins one day? Asking for a friend (the friend is us).

Sabretooth vs Wolverine

We got the epic battle in pages with the Mutant Massacre brawl in Uncanny X-Men. We got it in that X-Men: The Animated Series scrap. That ridiculous half-brothers version in Origins with Liev Schreiber. That short tease in the Void in Deadpool & Wolverine with Tyler Mane.

All of them… unsatisfactory! We need more, we need GORE!

Here’s the problem, in this game, Victor Creed starts out as Logan’s Team X teammate. So the tension is baked in from the jump. If Insomniac gives us the definitive, no-holds-barred, adamantium-on-adamantium throwdown we’ve been begging for since the ’80s, we might just cry.

The Skin Collection

Okay this one deserves a full paragraph because the wardrobe is STACKED.

The base look is Insomniac’s original Battle Reborn suit, and then it just keeps going: the cel-shaded anime-style Tokon suit, the classic brown-and-tan (a John Byrne staple, and a pre-order early unlock), Old Man Logan, the red-and-black Ultimate Wolverine, the Weapon X / Age of Apocalypse fit (the one from Deadpool & Wolverine, hair trimmed and all), Hugh Jackman’s comic-accurate yellow-and-blue Deadpool & Wolverine suit, the Days of Future Past jacket, and even a humble white tank top for when Logan just wants to grab a beer.

Grab the Digital Deluxe and you’re looking at five more exclusive suits plus a set of cosmetic claws to swap in (Reflective Claws come as a pre-order unlock). We’re gonna spend an embarrassing amount of time in the wardrobe menu and we’ve made our peace with that.
