What is Neverness to Everness (NTE)?
Isn’t this just GTA but make it anime-?

Yet another gacha game hits the market! Neverness to Everness, aka NTE, is a supernatural urban open-world RPG created by Hotta studios, the same studio that created another gacha called Tower of Fantasy. Does NTE have what it takes to stand-out in this oversaturated market of gacha games? Or will it never be forever just like Tower of Fantasy?
An Anomaly-Filled Premise!
NTE starts strong with an unnerving prologue.
NTE Prologue cutscene via YouTube
NTE starts with a broadcast stating that an extreme rainstorm is coming. As it pours, it’s obvious that it isn’t what it seems. The citizens who stared at it succumbs, their body floats, their body moves in uncomfortable ways, and their eyes go dead as “droplets” get extracted.
Here, you’ll get introduced to your chosen protag!

Due to their unique ability, they solve the crisis… Which ultimately put our protagonist under the watchful eye of the authorities. A pretty unique premise if you ask us!
A Mesh of Different Fighting Systems
As stated before, NTE is an urban open-world RPG that focuses on hack-and-slash combat.

It’s a mix of a bunch of systems between existing gacha games. Genshin’s 4 person party and elemental reactions, and Wuthering Waves’ intro and outro skill!
In NTE, there exist 6 elements: Cosmos, Lakshana, Anima, Psyche, Chaos, and Incantation. Each element only reacts to its adjacent element. For example: Cosmos reacts with Anima to trigger Blossom, which spawns a plant turret! There also exists a trio Esper Cycle reaction, which I won’t be getting into too much detail but it basically adds a new layer to teambuilding!

How do we trigger these reactions? Through the Esper Cycle Meter! As you fight, the meter will charge up, and after charging up the characters on your party will start glowing, indicating that you can now swap to them to trigger their respective Esper Cycle Reaction!

Appraisal Level from Gaming Pinas
As it is a gacha game and an RPG game, NTE offers a progression system that rewards you for leveling it up. Leveling your Hunter Level unlocks new content, so make sure you do your quest first (as they give the highest exp) to get the whole NTE experience.

For characters, it’s the same old formula where you have to raise their levels and level up their respective skills to ensure that they still do what they need to do as the difficulty increases.

The story quests are a mixed bag of serious stories and life-hearted fun!
Taygedo dialogue from Gaming Pinas
With helping one of your companions on their date, and an unexpected sign-language focus quest, NTE’s stories (as of writing this review) have been a joy to go-through!
We got Anime GTA before GTA IV?!
You read that right, NTE is literally an Anime GTA.
NTE driving from Gaming Pinas
In NTE, you can drive around its city “Hethereau” with your bought vehicle… Or your stolen vehicle- NTE surprisingly scratches the itch of wanting a new GTA-esque game!
Jailtime via YouTube
You can literally commit crimes AND be thrown to jail if the police catches you, and to mention that you can actually get out of jail by escaping prison or if you got a lot of money, paying bail.

NTE also offers a robust city life for you to enjoy! You get to run a cafe, maging Grab, fish, do deliveries, and even rob a bank!
Urban with a dash of Fantastical Elements!
NTE’s art direction and design is great! Hotta Studios really outdid themselves from their previous game.

It’s urban mixed with whimsical elements that make the game look cool and pretty at the same time!

The character’s designs are good too, fitting pretty well with NTE’s overall urban design.

The Gacha System…
Is great (so far atleast)!
Scarborough Fair from Gaming Pinas
The gacha, called Scarborough Fair, is unique to its competitors! Its a board and you get to roll a dice to move around, each space giving you a different reward. It may be an A-rank character, or the guaranteed featured S-rank character if you get lucky early!
Yes, you read that right ITS GUARANTEED, NO 50/50s FOR THE LIMITED BANNER!!!
Arc Research from Gaming Pinas
There is also a separate gacha for the character’s “weapons”, which is similar to Arknights: Endfield.
Final Verdict: A Gacha Game Worth Trying!
Neverness to Everness’s unique premise makes it stand out against other gacha games currently available on the market. It’s fun, quirky, and stunning to look at.

If you’re looking for a new Gacha game to spend your time with and would like a new aesthetic, NTE is definitely for you. Though be warned that this is STILL A GACHA GAME and it can go downhill FAST if Hotta Studios doesn’t roll their dice well.
This review wouldn’t have been possible without our game community game reviewer Castronaut! (Final Rating: 8/10)
